I am a lifelong conservative who cast my first vote for Ronald Reagan. I was raised in a small town in northeastern California—a community of ranching and logging—where I learned the traditional values that still guide my life today. Growing up in that environment, I developed a deep respect for hard work, self-reliance, and the people who make their living from the land. As a young man, I traveled through northwestern Montana and knew I would one day return. Today, I am proud to call Montana home.

Before entering law enforcement, I worked in farming, welding, equipment operation, machining, and retail. Those experiences instilled in me a strong work ethic, deep respect for hard work, and a firm belief in personal responsibility.

I served 30 years in law enforcement, including 25 years with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, where I retired as a Captain. Over the course of my career, I served in a wide range of roles, including patrol officer, hostage negotiator, and division commander. I managed more than 200 officers, oversaw a 1,400-bed facility, and administered a $34 million budget—coming in under budget for two consecutive years. I understand the importance of being a careful steward of taxpayer dollars.

After retiring from law enforcement, I worked in risk management, helping develop public safety policy for agencies across the country, and later served as Director of Content Development.

I hold degrees in Business Management and Management, attended the Senior Management Institute for Policing at Boston University, and graduated from the FBI National Academy.

As Abraham Lincoln said, “I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives.” I am proud to call Montana home, and I will work hard every day to serve our community with integrity as your House Representative.
